Using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 to upload or download files through FTP is as easy as browsing the internet. Follow the steps given here:
- Open your source directory in Windows Explorer.
- Open Internet Explorer 6 and in the address bar type your Host IP or the Host address.
- A window pops up wherein you can enter your FTP Username and FTP Password. If the window did not pop up, click on File from the top menu and select Login As...
- Enter your username and password and click on Log On button.
- Now Internet Explorer 6 will list the files on your server.
- To upload files, switch to the Windows Explorer window. Select and copy (ctrl + C) the directories and files. Switch back to Internet Explorer 6, browse to the destination directory and paste (ctrl + V).
- To download files, select and copy the directories and files in Internet Explorer 6 and paste them in the destination directory on your computer.
Note:
- Internet Explorer 7 does not have the FTP Login option.
